Sep. 28, signature ceremony of Baimai Phase II is held in Beihang University. Thales Group(named THALES), National Laboratory for Parallel & Distributed Processing (named PDL), Beihang University (named BUAA)and CVIC Software Engineering Co., Ltd.(named CVICSE ) signed the Baimai Phase II Agreement. In Baimai Phase II Agreement, CVIC SE, PDL and THALES will cooperate to do the research and development work of Complex Events Processing Over Steam Project.

Based on the above merits, the Parties (THALES, PDL, BUAA and CVIC SE)) wish to collaborate in the domain of Software technologies where they are strongly active. And on 19th, Oct 2006, the parties just signed a Memorandum of Intent to confirm the willingness of establishing a framework for the following areas:

　　Service Oriented Architectures
　　Advanced web services (QoS, semantic services..)
　　WS standardization (W3SC, OASIS)
　　Service and Information Grids
　　Convergence of service and grid architectures for large information and communication systems
　　Computing resource virtualization / Grids as a generalized paradigm for computing platforms
　　Middleware for mission critical systems
　　Component technologies for real-time and embedded systems
　　Small communicating objects
　　Pervasive Computing
　　Adaptive, Ad-hoc computing, etc.
　　Contribute to software standards (e.g. OMG, OASIS, W3C)
On 19th June 2007, a formal cooperation agreement was signed in Jinan, Shandong Province of China. The parties agreed to name this cooperation as "BaiMai" project. BaiMai is a famous Spring’name in Jinan,Shandong Province, China. It means 100 Springs merges into one big spring.
